Our Favorite Travel Stories of 2018
Oh, the Places We Went...
Pinterest
We went to a lot of cool places together in 2018.

Private islands.

Underwater hotels.

Canada...

Come, let's revisit them together now. These are our favorite travel stories of the year.

Behold: the world's most spectacular rooftop pools. Because summer is but a distant memory...

Our roving correspondent shared her journey aboard the "most scenic train ride in the world." Those quotation marks are there for a reason.

We rounded up eight of the planet's strangest spa experiences. We're not sure why. But check 'em out

We spoke to the fascinating billionaire explorer and activist, David de Rothschild, about getting lost in the middle of the Gobi Desert, old-school adventurers and his new line of far-flung travel experiences. Needless to say, he's a pretty cool dude.

In honor of Canada's new marijuana legislation, we put together the stoner's guide to Canada. Bacon menus. Trippy art. Non-profit music festivals on the lake. Those kind of things.

Our woman on the ground in Colombia searched for an illegal drink made from purple corn and spit. Yeah. Spit.

We highlighted the most private islands on earth, from Tanzania to Belize. And how to get to them. That part's important.

A hotel under a lake in Sweden. A hotel in an aquarium. A hotel in a frickin' submarine. Yes, these are the best underwater hotels across the globe.

Here's something different: a thoughtful list of spectacular nighttime adventures, including, but not limited to, hiking a volcano on the Canary Islands and off-roading under the Northern Lights.

And last but not least: these are the craziest places in the world to have sex. We'll leave it at that.
