The West was won. That much we know. How... well, that part’s open to some interpretation. The Northern Pacific Railway helped, sure. Gold rush didn’t hurt either. But if we had to guess, our money’s on all the fancy tepees... Saddle up for the Mustang Monument Wild Horse Eco-Resort, an unnecessarily elegant Nevada campground (nope, not saying “glamping”) and 900-square-mile horse reserve just waiting for you to break steeds and drink beer and things, now taking reservations. First and foremost, this is a wild mustang reserve. So expect to see wild horses. To go off-roading in jeeps to try and find wild horses. To pet their wild horse manes and whisper sweet nothings into their wild horse ears. To definitely skip that last part. Eventually, though, it’ll be time to relax in a way that is certainly not roughing it. Eating four-course dinners. Sleeping in hand-painted tepees outfitted with leather chairs, hardwood floors and handwoven rugs. Using the restroom in... a specialized facility adjacent to your tepee (yep, still in a tepee). And should you feel the urge, feel free to hit the archery range for some target practice. Maybe rope a dummy steer. Call for an in-tepee massage... Congratulate yourself on finally saying the words “in-tepee massage.” |
