Occasionally greatness needs to be immortalized in art.
It’s why Stuart painted George Washington and why Warhol silkscreened Marilyn Monroe and why your favorite vodka is doing this...
Raise a glass to
Grey Goose® Le Melon’s Kings of Culture, a custom portrait series from award-winning artist Kehinde Wiley that’s crowning today’s titans of film, music and sports in the name of
Grey Goose Le Melon flavored vodka.
Besides lending its distinct summery taste to Le Melon, legend has it that the treasured Cavaillon melon was coveted by kings and used as inspiration by artists. Cézanne featured the fruit in his paintings, and the writer Alexandre Dumas actually traded his life’s work for a yearly supply.
So it’s only natural that the Cavaillon melon served as inspiration for
Kehinde Wiley’s new traveling exhibition: heroic portraits of modern cultural icons, including his eminence Mr. Spike Lee.
The works will be unveiled at exclusive events across the country and then auctioned off at a marquee art show in Miami this December.
No, you can’t bid in melons.
