If your immediate surroundings included cowhide, feathers and turquoise details, you might conclude that you’re somewhere in New Mexico. Which is perfect. Because that’s exactly what this French utopia is going for. Come to know Le Taos, a new ski-in, ski-out hotel that was inspired by a village in the Southern Rocky Mountains. It’s booking now in France. This is sort of the last thing you’d expect to find in Tignes. A 54-suite hotel honoring a UNESCO-recognized village that’s been preserved by Pueblo Indians for more than 1,000 years. But, hey, you’re all for it. Especially when it looks like this. The mountainous views through the bow windows in your room will be hypnotizing. They might even fill your head with thoughts of not venturing out at all. But ignore those thoughts, head to the communal area (with private ski lockers and boot-and-glove warmers) and find the ski lifts. Everything will be waiting for you when you get back. Like the spa with a heated pool, sauna and massage area. And the restaurant with Dublin Bay prawns, salmon with green tea mousse and raspberry macarons. Just like you’d find in New Mexico. |
