Nah, you don’t want your ski boots warmed. You certainly don’t want to lounge in front of a fireplace. And there’s no way you’d want to swim in the only open-air swimming pool in Spain’s Sierra Nevada mountains... That, ladies and gents, is called “reverse psychology.” Embrace El Lodge, an alpine-style hotel on the slopes of Granada with steam baths, hot stone massages and a chairlift just beyond the front door, booking now for a December 15 reopening. A sleeping palace of such stature requires some evocative chalet pictures. Also, some brief guidance. #1. Get one of the rooms with “Pool” in the name. You can step out of them straight onto the pool deck. No cons there. #2. Maybe ski a little. Lessons are available with a personal instructor or in a group. Which leads us to... #3. Visit the spa. They’ve got treatments like an après-ski massage. Because a pre-ski massage wouldn’t really make sense. #4. Eat delicious things. The restaurant has the only organic caviar in the world. It’s produced south of the Sierra Nevada. Hey, that’s near you. #5. Or rent out the whole damn chalet. And that, ladies and gents, is called “self-explanatory.” |
