It’s prime helicopter-fishing season right now.
Which reminds us... it’s prime helicopter-fishing season right now.
Polish your waders and steel your nerves for the
AK Tsaina Heli-Angler Adventure, a backcountry Alaskan fishing voyage where a helicopter escorts you to the most far-flung fishing holes our 49th state has to offer, taking reservations now.
So, heli-fishing. You know heli-fishing. It’s where you get in a chopper, make a Schwarzenegger reference and
breeze gleefully over some city-sized glaciers before pulling 65-pound king salmon out of an isolated alpine stream. Classic American pastime.
And it all starts at the Tsaina Lodge, a well-appointed slumber pad in the Chugach Mountains that’s basically what Jeremiah Johnson would’ve built if he won the Powerball. They’ve got a helipad out back. Whitewater rafting across the street. And a woodsy bar serving salmon burgers and sashimi rolls. (Both essential to the après-heli-fishing experience.)
We suggest booking this for one month from now. Right around the summer solstice. You’ll have 19 hours of daylight for bagging obscene amounts of sockeye salmon and rainbow trout. Plus, you’ll have the privilege of watching a 2am sunrise.
Or a terrible case of sleep deprivation, depending on how you look at it.
