THE INVESTIGATION
After providing our most Prefontaineian investigator with a protein bar, some earbuds and a 1K road map, we sat back and awaited the results.
Upon launching the app, our researcher was presented with a screen resembling a cross between a digital stopwatch and a virtual DJ booth. There were options. Options to add or remove drums. To tweak vocals and sound effects. To insert Apollo Creed’s voice talking smack about how bad we are at jogging. (Not really, but that would be kind of cool.)
Then some running happened...
THE VERDICT
As advertised, it worked. As our researcher’s speed increased, so too did the rhythm of each song. The caveat: the songs are kind of annoying. And repetitive. And overall, it was a bit more work than we would’ve liked to take on.
Then again, so was jogging...
