And that is a damn shame. Riding to the rescue is Cloud Camp at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, a remote Canadian resort’s new even-more-remote encampment that sits 4,500 feet above sea level. It’s available beginning in June. Getting there is easy. All you have to do is book a stay at the main resort, get to Canada, hop on a private seaplane transfer from Vancouver or a boat ride from Tofino, arrive at the lodge and then, barring any unfavorable weather conditions, arrange a helicopter ride to a peak on Ursus Mountain. See? Nothing to it. And if you’re doubtful, this slideshow will show you why it’s worth it. You’ll have the run of the whole place. There’s a mountain lake you can hike around or stick an apprehensive toe in. A tent with a wooden floor. A bed you can sleep or not sleep in.
